Slim Down this Summer

I’m really excited about my new low-fat vegetarian diet. I completed my first day today this is what I had.

Breakfast: A glass of Tropicana Orange juice, steamed spinach, grapes, and organic egg whites(my dog enjoyed himself the yolks)

Snacks: Dried fruit

Lunch: Salad with Romaine lettuce, bean sprouts, chopped tomatoes, avacado, drizzled with fat free ranch dressing. A glass of silk low-fat chocolate soy milk.

Dinner: Sweet potatoes, corn, and beans, another glass of orange juice.

so?
please no ignorant comments like " a nice tender juicy steak would complete this" or anything of the sort.

thanks!
Oh, also I take a women’s multi-vitamin every morning

thats crazy healthy. Keep up the good work.

I was told by a doctor I have to go on a low fat diet. He gave me some pointers, but I think it would be easier if I had a meal plan. That way, I might actually stick to the diet. I have weight watchers points books, but that doesn’t give you the fat value of food.
I want a free diet plan website, if anybody knows of one.
I’m not obsessed with food and have checked out ediets. The other website wasn’t active in my area. Anybody else know of any???

try ediets.com they’re pretty safe and reputable.

http://wemakeyousure.com/low-carb — Diet Plan With Low Carb Food

Food is more powerful than any prescription weight loss pills, because the food you eat can make you fat or thin.

You can not get fat because of lack of exercise, it was a myth.

You get fat because you do not eat the right foods at the right intervals each day.

In addition, the pattern you choose to eat every day is more powerful than prescription weight loss pills.

This is true because your body like a machine and only needs certain foods at certain intervals each day.

If you do not eat the right foods at the right time it will not burn calories and eventually you will save calories as fat tissue

eating a low carbohydrate diet is one strategy the latest and most popular.

Everyone seems to be the reduction in the cost of eating carbs and lose pounds and inches for their efforts.

You can start a low-carb diet by educating yourself and changing your daily habits.

I am trying to build a great diet plan to follow. But I am not sure if low fat or low calorie is better to follow? Also, got any suggestions for breakfast, lunch or dinner and snacks? stuff that is not complicated to make and something i can take to work with me. I wanna try and keep all the calories at or under 1,000 a day. thanks for all your help!

Low calorie, low fat is only a form of calories and is vital for energy and muscle growth/maintenance. However, 1,000 calories are not enough to keep your energy level up and maintain a healthy body. I would suggest at least 1,200, maybe more, and work out everyday. Running is the most efficient exercise to burn calories.

I’m 5 ft 4 1/2, and I way 146 pounds. I’m still growing, but I DEFINATLY think I could stand to lose 15-25 pounds. I’ve gone on a couple different diets, And the high protien, high fiber, and low fat one worked the best so far. My friend told me about the Special K diet, also. Does it work? I exorcise very much every day. Do you have any good diet plans? Thanks!
Oh, I have Anxiety/ panic disorder. I wasn’t sure if that mattered or not.

build muscle. it’ll take your extra fat.(fat that didn’t get burn)
i don’t exactly remember how.

drink lots of water, eat nuts and raisins to increase metabolism
workout.
eat healthy.
eat slowly, because it takes awhile for food to digest, so
it takes awhile to be full after eating.

eating slowly will allow you to know when you’re full to eat less.

don’t sit in front of the tv while eating.
pretty much pay attention only to your food when you eat
also allow your body to tell you when you’re hungry, when it growls, eat.

do aerobic exercises

do 2 30min exercises then have a 20 min break you’ll lose more wight than not taking breaks at all
play music that you enjoy, or music that makes you feel like dancing to you’ll exercise more/longer

you can run in one place for 15 min per day or more.
or run up and downstairs. or jog/run/walk around your block.

then slowly increase the time, by 5 min per day.
and if you’re gonna do sit-ups, cutches, pull=ups, etc. add 10 per day

starving will get you skinnier but at the end of it when you eat normally again your body will be saving it,
and you’ll gain weight faster
like bears saving their food for the winter.

also laughing for 10-15 minutes
burns75 calories

If you get cravings in afternoon, it means you’re not getting enough food in the day.
Have and extra half apple, or an extra of something healthy for breakfast or have a snack before
yur usual cravings start everyday.

+dont tell me im too young to lose weight,i wont even listen, dont bother

Well, if you’re trying to lose weight calorie counting is obviously the best way to go. Since you are 14 and still growing, 2000 calories a day is a good way to lose weight and it will keep you satisfied too. This may seem like quite a lot of calories but it really isn’t, the average american eats over 3,000 a day! So you really need to be careful.

You can eat 2000 cals of pure crap and still lose weight, but you won’t feel full or satisfied. So you should cut most of the junk from your life and find healthy, yummy alternatives- like raw walnuts, peanut butter, apples, and yogurt (plain yogurt with honey is delish!).
I actually do have a little weight loss success story. After the previous summer like 6 months ago, I had gained 8 pounds. I was so upset because I couldn’t fit into my clothes and my ankles were swollen and I didn’t look healthy at all! So as soon as I realized, I quite eating junk and I ate healthy alternatives like bananas and peanut butter and raw almonds (which I lived on!). I ate about 1500 cals. After about 2 weeks the entire 8 pounds just melted off of me and I felt fantastic!

P.S Drink a lot of water! Studies show that water helps you lose weight and prevent weight gain because the liver can focus on removing fat.

This is the second in Atkins Diet misconceptions or myths series, and in this video I deal with the thought this is a high protein diet. Just check out google for “Atkins Diet” and “high protein,” and you’ll see how prevalent this misconception is.

USDA Food Pyramid Standard for Protein:
10-35% of Total Calories

http://health.msn.com/weight-loss/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100186268

http://www.health.gov/DietaryGuidelines/dga2005/document/html/chapter5.htm

With 35% being the standard for high protein, what does Dr. Atkins recommend?
“The macro-nutrient breakout in the Induction phase is 60 percent fat, 30 percent protein and 10 percent carbohydrate. It should be more appropriately be called a high fat regimen. As you progress through the phases, your percentage of fat naturally diminishes as your percentage of carbohydrates increases.” Even in DANDR, he cautions against going high protein on page 43,
“No, because when you cut out fat, what is left is protein and carbohydrate, both of which can produce a blood-sugar response. Fat is the only substance that won’t have an impact on your blood sugar. It also provides essential fatty acids you can’t get from protein or carbohydrates. Contrary to much of what you may have heard, fat can be good for you! (43)”

Dangers of low fat, low carb, high protein diet:
Sources:
* http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Rabbit-starvation
* http://www.medbio.info/Horn/PDF%20files/rabbit%20starvation.pdf

Rabbit starvation is the form of acute malnutrition caused by excess consumption of any lean meat (e.g. rabbit) coupled with a lack of other sources of nutrients usually in combination with other stressors, such as severe cold or dry environment. Symptoms include diarrhea, headache, lassitude, a vague discomfort and hunger that can only be satisfied by consumption of fat or carbohydrates.

How much protein is advisable:
*** .8 – 1.2g per kg of body weight – normal adults, or roughly 72g to 109g per day for 200 pound adult
*** Up to 1.6g per kg – for extremely active or weight lifting adults, or 145g for 200 pound adult (29%)
