Atkins Diet: Low Carb Breakfast – not necessarily like Mom made
I deal with the question by a viewer who like I was sick of eggs and bacon, and was looking for alternative breakfast items.
My criteria for a good low carb breakfast is:
* has to be quick to make
* has to be easy to make
* has to provide enough nutrition for morning activities and mid day exercise
I also suggest the valuable step of prepping for breakfast the night or the week before by chopping the vegetables or cooking the meat beforehand to expand your options. With that in mind, there are countless options for the 5-minute or less breakfast meals.
I highlight my favorite 5:
* Taco or Fajita Salad
* Low Carb Stir Fry
* Sausage Broccoli Quiche
* Upside Down Low Carb Pizza
* Pancakes and Syrup

Making stir-fries …
Making stir-fries is simply a great way to add color, veggies, and great fats into your diet. I am so glad you liked them. Thanks for the suggestion.
I just rewatched this video, and I am so glad I am not using Windows Movie Maker or that old webcam any longer.
I just prepared …
I just prepared your meal. I used sesame oil, soy sauce, chili oil on the brocolli, onions, peppers in a separate pan, and a small amount of szechuam over the top of the finished dish to add some spice. I served it to my entire family and everyone enjoyed it. You should make some more vidoes and show yourself preparing it too. Thank you for being a part of Youtube’s educations series.
I feel the same …
I feel the same about Atkins. It simp[y worked for me where all other diets failed. I never stressed about food or had the constant longing for eating again like all other diets.
Thanks for watching and providing your success story into the mix.
great video. …

Hi just a quick ? …
Hi just a quick ? 19 days on induction …only 4 lbs. weight loss…what the heck… I’ve stayed in 20grams a day …never gone out of ketosis…and have kept a fitday log each day…drink up to 80 oz. of water daily…exercise 40-50 minutes of high energy exercise 5 days a week… can you give me some insentive to keep going…
Check out my not …
Check out my not losing videos (both on Induction and my general not losing video), and what you might have not captured as part of the rules. For example, a lot of ppl don’t recall that you are limited to 3-4 oz of cheese per day. I hope this helps.
When I first …
When I first started the Atkins Diet, I was eating around 3-4000 Calories a day. That eventually dropped to around roughly 2200-2500 per day, but the only reason I tracked to be sure I was eating enough. This time be sure to eat high quality foods (like sausage, steak) and try to eliminate as much of the snack foods as possible.
Also remember there are limits on SOME low carb foods even on Atkins like artificially sweetned things, cheese, cream, I really found it hard to over eat legal.
The reason I’m …
The reason I’m asking about calorie intake is… I’m over 400 lbs, and I really need to find a solution that works for me. I’m almost exactly at where you started. I just need to figure out how much I can eat per day, or per meal… I somehow got the impression that you can eat as much as you want on Atkins so long as you keep your carbs low… but that didn’t work too well. I really need some help, and I truly appreciate any advice you can offer me.
Hi Kent… I love …
Hi Kent… I love your videos and have been watching them for many months now. Can you give me an idea of how many calories you consume per day on the low carb diet? I tried low carb for about 4 months and didn’t seem to lose much weight. I think I was eating too much, and I would like to get an idea of how many grams of protein and fat to eat per day, and the resulting calories. I’d like to try again, and be successful this time. Thanks.

Why don’t you act like your mom would be proud of, and being a troll only leads ultimately to a life of sadness…
No on the regular …
No on the regular ketchup as it contains HFCS, but the Heinz One Carb or Reduced Sugar Ketchup is fine.

Check out my Misconception Series of videos especially ones like the cancer, cholesterol, and long term studies videos. It addresses these mostly vegan bias that has crept into some scientific research, and addresses it with a diet that 60% Fat and is proven healthy in study after study.
this is pretty …
this is pretty interesting, but what about the fact, that animal fat is not healthy at all? is this a rumor or what? and isn’t it too much animal products? i mean meat, milk, cheese, eggs.. all comes from the animals and i’m not sure, if this really is good.
Do im not following …
Do im not following the atkins diet, but the “Low carb high fat” one. I normaly eat this for breakfast.
4 spoons of Turkish Yogurt
2cl of cream
Or just some really fat cheese
Keeps me full and going for about 4-6 hours easy..
Really, the special …
Really, the special “low carb” foods play such a small part in my diet that I wouldn’t be too envious. The SF syrups are nice for the desserts, but most of the time I order online from Amazon or Netrition for those. For flours, almond flour is my new favorite, which is simply ground raw almonds.
Remember these are the icing (the 1 percent), the other 99 percent is shopping the exterior (basics) of any grocery store.
it’s good that in …
it’s good that in america you guys have all these protein flour, and sugar free syrup thing, it’s really hard to find it in Singapore in our local super market. we have to go to places like marketplace or jens, and it’s expensive
Very true – with …
Very true – with just a bit of planning, it makes low carb’ing and eating well so much easier.
I use one weekend …
I use one weekend afternoon, usually Sunday, to cook up meat, make a batch of lc pancakes or crepes, and then can grab quickly for breakfast and lunch. the one thing I love about low carb is that you don’t have to do a lot of cooking, but when I feel like it, I can make a gourmet meal and no one even knows it is low carb.
Today for breakfast …
Today for breakfast I’ve got brocolli and mushrooms with melted cheese and a little soured cream. So it’s true, think outside the box!
Yep, I think most …
Yep, I think most people would be surprised at the amount of vegetables in the typical Low Carb, Atkins Diet followers life. So much of the modern diet that most non-followers eat is just that — modern inventions. Most ingredients are processed foods made from the lowest cost items or chemicals or sugared to increase their desirability.
Atkins might not fix everything in one’s diet, but it at least pushes the dieter in the right direction and off the blood glucose roller coaster.
Thank you for the …
Thank you for the low carb breakfasts ideas, I really hate eggs! ;/
As I am NOT a meat or egg lover I am finding myself eating more vegetables and salads than usual instead of bread, cookies, and potatoes. So I find this diet actually HEALTHY, and I have more ENERGY throughout the day instead of being sleepy for eating the bad carbs (like my usual pasta with garlic bread, not healthy). I am a biologist, I did my research on this diet and I REALLY RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE!
The people who …
The people who don’t understand this diet simply don’t understand the biochemistry involved. they must educate themselves. in a nut shell…
Insulin is the bad guy.
LDL (the bad cholesterol) receptors are INCREASED in adipocytes (fat cells) by …. you guessed it … insulin! Not good … it simply makes you STORE MORE FAT!
Also, Glycerol-3-Phosphate (G3P) is the backbone of triglycerides (fat). and it is an intermediate of CARBOHYDRATE metabolism, NOT fat metabolism!
