i have just started atkins diet, just as a kick start to loose some weight, only been on it for a day and ive got a head ache all ready.will i feel better soon, or will the side affects get any worse.plz help as other diet havnt worked for me.
You should get rid of the headache soon. But be warned don’t follow it to carefully. My friend followed it for weeks and ended up with server constipation. Funny isn’t it. Well it would of been if she hadn’t had to spend days in hospital then a couple of weeks off work. If you want to continue then please make sure that you eat plenty of fruit and veg. There are plenty that are low in carbs. Be brave and try fruit and veg you wouldn’t normaly

Stop that stupid diet, just consume fewer calories and burn off more.

The atkins diet is not healthy you need balance.

There is no easy way out. It takes hard work. There are no shortcuts. Just eat relatively good, and be active. Most people can’t even do those two things. Active doesn’t mean going to the gym and talking to your friend for two hours like most women think it does.

It will get better. In large part it’s the body’s reaction to a very abrupt change in the type of fule it receives. It’s effectively going cold turkey , especially if you used to consume a lot of sugar. You’ll come though it in about 24 hours, but make sure you drink plenty of water. I really don’t recommend a "pure" Atkins diet. You’ll still lose weight if you combine lean meat with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit and it will be far better for you.

Atkins is wonderful, but please tell me you’ve read the book in its entirety, you’ve seen your doctor, and you’ve found a support person or forum to help you. If not, you are guessing at what Adkins is, and what you should and should not be doing. Adkins is not just a diet, it is a way of life: what you eat, how you exercise, what supplements you take, and your outlook on life. It’s not something you do for a few weeks, it’s something you do forever. Otherwise you return to your carb addictions and your body stockpiles fat and water again.
But, to answer your question about your headache, yes it does feel cruddy and yes it does get better. A body addicted to carbs goes through withdrawal symptoms just as it does with any other substance.

On board the Adkins way of life. Lost so far 16 pounds, 2 inches off my hips. Regained energy, lung capacity, and true enjoyment of food.

I thought this one had died away, along with its dubious author. Answers is chock a block with people wanting someone or something to loose weight for them. Unfortunately in case you haven’t heard it before, diets don’t work! Statistically 2 in 3 so called dieters end up heavier.
There is really only one way to sustain weight loss. Less in, more out. It is the second part that is essential, and of course that is also the reason most people fail. You need to do 30-40 minutes of vigorous exercise 5 days a week, FOR LIFE!
Unfortunately the vast majority of people who are desperate to loose weight and say they will do anything, actually mean try any fad diet or swallow any dubious pill, as long as they are not expected to get off the couch. Result? They are doomed to remain fat!

Stop doing the diet. I have read lots of reports about the Atkins diet and it is NOT a good one to follow. All you have to do is eat less and exercise more. Go for the low fat options and cut down on the foods that are high in fat and start eating more fruit and vegetables and aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day

Are you eating enough? If you are following the Atkin’s diet properly, then you should not have any headaches. Remember, you can eat as much as you want of meats, cheese and veg. Don’t starve yourself. I used to be on two whole chickens a day. Good luck and don’t give up. It’s worth it in the end.

atkins works because your body takes longer to process protein than carbs, making you fuller for longer but really isnt good for you at all, ditch it because you will never be able to maintain a low carb high protein diet long term and as soon as you introduce carbs back into your diet you will put the weight back on. honestly it sounds so obvious but onlt eat when you are genuinely hungry, stop when you are satisfied, dont cut any food groups out of your diet, eat what you like just make sure you only eat to satisfy hunger and for no other reason. ive been living this way for years and have maintained a healthy weight throughout. good luck.

You are going through sugar withdrawal, and possibly caffeine withdrawal too if you’ve given up the cokes and coffee as suggested.
It will last for a few days, but if you can tough it out you will start to feel better.
It does get easier the longer you do it.
